Onlays and inlays in North Naples serve as a middle ground for teeth that are too damaged to be repaired with a filling, but they don’t quite require a full crown. At our dental office, they are typically made of porcelain to deliver a natural appearance, and thanks to CEREC technology, we can often create and place a restoration over the course of a single appointment.
Onlays are used for large areas of damage or decay. They restore the area inside the cusp (top of a tooth) and extend over one or more sides of a tooth. Because of their size, they are usually made of porcelain.
These are used to restore the area of the tooth inside the cusps. Inlays are a conservative tooth restoration which means they require far less drilling and preparation of the tooth than a metal filling. Inlays are usually made of porcelain or composite resin, making them “invisible” in your smile.
